Frequently asked

FAQ — Wedding videography

What's the difference between the AED 3,500 and AED 6,000 wedding video packages?

The AED 3,500 package is a 3-minute story-driven highlight reel — coverage of the key moments edited together with music, no dialogue or full vows. The AED 6,000 package is an 8-minute cinematic cut with longer scenes, more b-roll, the full first dance, more of the toasts, and a slower-paced edit. Both packages include a 20–40 minute ceremony cut with the full vows and speeches (delivered as a separate video file). Pick AED 3,500 when the brief is 'show us the day'; pick AED 6,000 when the brief is 'make us feel something'.

What cameras do you use for wedding videography?

Sony FX3 as the primary cinema camera — 4K Super 35, 10-bit 4:2:2, dual base ISO for low-light reception work. Sony A7S III as the B-cam (if booked). We bring Aputure 300D LED panels for the reception dance floor and Godox AD200 for fill. The kit is portable and runs on battery — no mains power needed at most venues. Drone coverage (optional) uses DJI Inspire 3 with our licensed operator.

Can we add drone footage?

Yes — AED 1,500 for the drone add-on, which covers up to 30 minutes of flight time, the licensed operator, and the NMC permit. Drone is integrated into the highlight reel (1–3 aerial shots) and the ceremony cut if requested. Most Dubai wedding venues permit drone flights, but some — particularly hotels near airports (Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa area) — require advance permit applications we handle as part of the booking.

Do you record the vows and speeches in full?

Yes — every booking includes a 20–40 minute 'ceremony cut' that captures the full vows, ring exchange, and 2–3 speeches in unedited sequence. We use wireless lavalier mics (Sennheiser G4) on the groom, bride and officiant so the audio is clean. The ceremony cut is delivered as a separate video file alongside the highlight reel — you can watch the highlights for Instagram and the ceremony cut for the family archive.

How long is the final video, and when do we get it?

The 3-minute reel is exactly 3:00–3:30. The 8-minute reel is exactly 8:00–8:30. Both delivered as a single MP4 master file (4K H.264, 1080p social cut included). The 20–40 minute ceremony cut is a separate MP4 file. Standard turnaround: 3–4 weeks from the wedding date (4 weeks for the 8-min package, 3 weeks for the 3-min package). Rush delivery (2 weeks) is available at +AED 1,200. Two rounds of revisions are included — list-based, similar to the photography revision policy.

Can we add a same-day teaser?

Yes — AED 4,500 for the same-day teaser add-on. A 30–90 second edit of the ceremony highlights delivered by 10pm on the wedding night. Two editors work in parallel: one cuts the teaser that evening, one begins the 4-week post on the full reel. The teaser is screened at the after-party or shared with overseas guests on WhatsApp. Available only when the Big Story crew is the day's film team (we can't cut a teaser from footage another videographer shot).

What's the difference between Wedding Videography and Cinematic Wedding?

Wedding Videography is video-only coverage with a single Sony FX3 lead videographer — good for the highlight reel and ceremony cut. Cinematic Wedding is Big Story's premium package: RED Komodo X A-cam + 2 FX3 B-cams + dedicated film director + 5 ACs + drone + 8–12 minute cinema-grade film + same-day teaser + DaVinci Resolve colour grade. Cinematic Wedding starts at AED 18,500 (Basic) or AED 35,000 (Premium, two-day, same-day teaser). Pick Wedding Videography when the brief is a highlight reel; pick Cinematic Wedding when the brief is a film that holds up on a cinema screen.
